Another Birthday!
I can't believe I'm having another birthday already. It seems I was just hanging out with mom and dad at South Coast Hospital watching NBA basketball all day and night. Now I'm just really into trucks. I love the trash truck and the digger the best and when Papa takes me to see the crane working at the harbor. I also like to go to the beach and swim in the pool. But my most favorite thing to do is hang out with dad and mom wherever we are.

Where Does All the Trash Go?
Today I took a mesmerizing field trip to the Prima Descecha landfill in San Juan Capistrano. It was fantastic. I got to ride in a huge truck way up high where I could see everything. Randy showed me and my mom around: where the methane comes out of the ground and gets turned into energy that they sell to the gas company, where the trash trucks dump their loads of trash, where the dozers and crushers move it around and mash it down. It was really cool. Now I know how much trash people make because I saw a lot of it! We saw lots of birds too.
We also saw where they crush the asphalt so when it rains the crushers and dozers won't slide around when they are crushing all that trash.
I highly recommend this field trip to anyone. I also recommend the videos titled "Where the Garbage Goes" at Littlehardhats.com and "Real Wheels: Truck Adventures." There is a lot of information how recycling gets done too.

I say swim.
In this "sink or swim" world, I say swim. Swim like a fish. My dad did this weekend and brought home some major booty. I took notes every minute while he jumped from the blocks, swimming with head down, arms flying and feet splashing. My first day back at swim lessons after two days of watching expert swimmers from around the SoWestern US, I did as they did: face in the water, head turning side to side, swimming with big arms and bigger kickers impressing all the other Waterworks 'babies'' moms.

Oh what a lifestyle
I have discovered a new way of living. My mom and dad took me out on grandma and gramp's sailboat to spend the night at anchor this weekend and it was fantastic. I missed the car but really enjoyed seeing the birds soar above the sea and listening to the quiet that most of Southern California doesn't know. It was really fun and I can't wait to do it again!
